Wild Sweet Potato is a member of the morning glory family. The leaves are large and heart-shaped. It is a perennial vine than can grow up to 30 feet in length. The spring flowers are white and purple and can grow up to 6 inches in diameter. The vine is drought resistant and very persistent. It can grow in a variety of soil types and normally invades garden beds rather than home lawns. Wild Sweet Potato Vine grows rapidly and can smother desirable plants. Also known as Man-Of-The-Earth it has a distinctive large tuberous root.
