A winter or spring annual, related to the violet family. The fibrous root grows a plant, 4-15” tall, that branches at the base. The leaves are alternate, and palmately lobed along the stems. It has a violet like flower that is white to blue with a yellow center. Commonly found in field crops, yards and gardens.
