A weed commonly found in hayfields and corn and soybean fields. This is a biennial or short lived perennial weed. Seedlings are yellowish green and quickly grow into a rosette with opposite leaves with soft hairs. As plants mature they may have a grayish green color because of the soft hairs. The opposite leaf arrangement is easier to see on the stems that produce the white flowers. The flowers have 5 notched petals. The female flowers develop into round seedpods.
