Blackseed plantain is a ground-hugging perennial weed that inhabits turf grass. It has large, oval, strongly ribbed leaves. Small, inconspicuous greenish or white flowers appear in clusters on solitary, erect 6-12 inch flower stems. Flowers bloom in June through August. The plant’s leaves are thin, light green and attached to leaf stalks with purplish bases. Its roots are mostly fibrous with a short taproot. Blackseed plantain reproduces primarily by seeds.
